I was walking through the campus one day and saw members of Students for a Democratic Society dressed in black acting out a skit as Vietnamese citizens in the rice fields. The purpose of the performance was to demonstrate U.S. forces killing civilians during the Vietnam War.
As I walked down the main steps to the parking lot, a reporter from a major network approached me and asked what I thought about the demonstration and U.S. involvement in Vietnam. I said I thought the U.S. had to stop the Communists before they came to our country. My family saw me on the news! My opinion now is so much different. It was a great lesson.
