Featured Speakers
Leroy Hood, MD, PhD
President, Professor and Co-founder Institute of Systems Biology, Seattle
Leroy Hood, fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Engineering, and the National Academy of Medicine. He is one of only 15 scientists (of more than 6,000 members of The National Academies) elected to all three academies. Hood developed 6 instruments that created a foundation for modern molecular biology including the automated DNA sequencer and an automated Protein sequencer. Hood introduced systems biology as a discipline and has pioneered a systems approach to disease—leading to the concepts of systems medicine and P4 medicine.
